About The NY Mythology Group

This Meetup group offers a great opportunity for anyone interested in Mythology and its continued relevance for modern times.

Each of us may experience mythology in different ways. Mythology can be:

• A treasure trove of spell-binding stories about great heroes and epic quests
  
• A repository of history and timeless wisdom from the ancient and natural world
  
• A pathway to increased awareness of our shared cultural heritage as members of the family of man
  
• A resonant gathering of symbols and motifs which speak to us on a primal, subconscious level
  
• A rich source of inspiration and templates for embarking on our own creative journeys
  
• A shadowy mirror which reflects the common aspects of many spiritual and religious traditions
  
• A disguised revelation of our deepest psychological truths
  

Whatever mythology means to you, there's a place for you in our group. We hope you come share your unique perspective with us, and in so doing, help us to honor these stories by exploring them as they were originally intended to be explored-- in a communal setting, gathered around the proverbial fire.



THE JOSEPH CAMPBELL FOUNDATION:
This meetup group is recognized by the Joseph Campbell Foundation (JCF) as the official JCF Mythological RoundTable of New York.




The JCF is very helpful to our group in furnishing mutliple resources and opportunities for us to hold events featuring great content.
